32bit 64bit

32bit > 64bit

I have installed Vista Beta 2 32bit x86 on a spare partition and am successfully duel booting with my normal XP... I am running an Athlon64 3200+ with 2gig of RAM... so I was wondering if there would be any benefit in installing the 64bit x64 ? (I am currently downloading the 64bit just in case and am aware that to install the 64bit you need to boot from the DVD)
Could I upgrade the 32bit or would a Format and clean install of the 64bit be better in the long term?

You would have to do a clean install of the x64 Vista.

A clean install of x64 Vista would be required as you cannot upgrade from 32bit to 64bit.

I have installed both and I have not noted significative difference. For example the winzip, winrar, winamp, ad-aware lavasoft, HL2 episode one are working on both, Toca 3 is not working. I have a question, now. I have installed Vista on C: and I cannot boot my second HD with Windows XP installed (D:). I have tryed VistaBoot pro but is not working fine: I cannot specify the second HD. The bcdedit.exe is not working too (A screen appeare for half second and then disappear). How you fix the dual boot? Thanks. Alessandro

Thanks for your observations,
AFAIK to duel boot XP and Vista Beta properly, XP needs to be on the first partition and Vista on a subsequent. Install VistaBootPro into XP and away you go.
(To
delete Vista go into XP and Format the Vista partition and use VistaBootPro to delete the Vista Boot and you are back to your original XP boot + installation)
